Chichester Project:

GRP System & New Fascias in Chichester

In Chichester, our client wanted a long-term solution for a coastal-exposed roof serving a utility and hallway. We proposed a GRP (fibreglass) installation thanks to its seamless, joint-free nature and strong edge detailing against prevailing winds. The programme included strip-out, decking repairs, and a warm roof build with PIR insulation to reduce heat loss. Pre-formed GRP edge trims were fitted at drip and upstand locations to create crisp lines and effective water shedding.

We replaced tired roofline elements with fresh fascias & soffits, ensuring ventilation remained correct for the adjacent pitched section. New guttering improved flow to existing downpipes. For natural light, a fixed flat roof light was added over the hallway. Internally, we coordinated with the plasterer to leave the aperture ready for final finishing. We also performed minor roof repairs to neighbouring tiles and renewed a lead chase that had been letting wind-driven rain into the masonry.

The GRP laminate was built up to the manufacturer’s specification and finished in a slate-grey topcoat for UV protection. We provided photo evidence of each stage and carried out water testing before handover. The completed re-roof is robust, smart, and backed by a written guarantee.

Chichester properties often face salt-laden winds and sudden downpours, so detailing is crucial. We select systems—GRP, EPDM, or felt—based on the roof’s structure, exposure, and usage. Our process is practical and tidy, with clear communication throughout. If you’re exploring warm roofs, skylights, or replacing aged coverings, we’ll help you choose a system that balances budget, performance, and appearance—then install it to a standard you’ll be proud to photograph.
